Wooster Tavern
6309 Wooster Road. 271-8616

Happy Hour is all about getting people to get to the bar early, most happy hours are offered during the slowest times of the day. So you can grab a draft for less $ than later, as long as you do it early. Many bars offer food specials as well as drink deals provided they have food at all. At
Wooster Tavern they have food for sure, apps, salads, burritos, sandwiches, wraps, burgers and pizza.
If Wooster Tavern offers deals on food at Happy Hour, they keep it a secret. The bartender was not telling, and I wasn't gonna pry. She did however give me the drink run down, $1.50 wells, bottles and domestic drafts. She did not allow me to take advantage of the 10 minutes or so I had left(Cincinnati Bell Time) to order in though. Maybe she's on "bar time". After a bit of confusing conversation we ordered a Miller Lite bottle and a Blue Moon draft, regular prices of course ($2.50) and ($4.50) respectively.
I was a bit suprised at the lack of attention we recieved since we were sharing the entire bar with only one other person. However later on the bartender's friends showed up and
her spirits were lifted (at least when she was talking to them). The afore mentioned friends ordered a couple of appetizers , and they seemed pleased with them.
You will for sure be entertained if you like T.V. They have many, and you can't find a bad seat in the house. The juke box started getting played around 8:00 and it was well stocked with cool picks. As more food came out of the kitchen, I decided to catch a crab cake ($6.95).
I think maybe it was a frozen pre-made Sams Club type thing, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. I bet my $7 almost paid for the whole box. So much for the crab cakes, I love good fish sandwiches, but I was worried it too was a Sams Club special. Next time I'll go for the burger. I'm pretty easy to please but my expectations rise with my bill, so I'll give Wooster Tavern one more chance before I make my final verdict. Next time I'll be certain to get there at the beginning of Happy Hour (4-7) instead of the end, and hopefully one of those burgers will put me in a good mood regardless of the bartenders attitude.
