Picture Perfect Patio
Now that the smokers have been kicked out to the curb, back parking lot or patio (if there is one) the bars who really care the most are getting the patios up to par. I’m not talking about some designated spot outside to stand around and chain smoke like your a Hilltop Research test subject. I’m talking about a patio that most wish they had at home. A patio worthy of spending the whole night on ordering drinks, playing cornhole, riding the mechanical horse (just kidding the horse is not for adults and you know it) or just hanging out with a group of friends.
The smokers may dominate the inside (which they don’t) but the patio is still the smokers turf and you are never going to take that away.
Tostados has a patio that could win “best in the Eastside.” It’s decorated like it was meant for Home and Garden magazine and it’s about to get even bigger. Flowers, plants and candles are everywhere and ornate “gas light district” style cast iron street lamps light the patio up until 2 a.m.
The ambiance is perfect and you’ll find plenty of room to move about and socialize. Tostados is damn proud of their patio and plans to keep it cozy in all but the coldest weather by adding a large fire-pit. Now patrons can gather by the fire and keep the November chill at bay.
I hope it attracts non smokers too so they can go home smelling of some kind of smoke after all (that thought pleases me in ways I can’t describe). Maybe all the non smokers should be banned from the patio altogether. The smoke from the cracklin’ logs is bound to get them all worked up right? I’ll be there with marshmallows (and a Marlboro) in hand when they first fire it up, how about you?
