Two new cupcakery bakeries pop up in Milford

Cupcakes must be getting damn popular, cupcakeries are popping up all over and there are two now in Milford. Is Cincinnati poised to support a bakery who bakes no cakes other than the cup variety? These two bakeries certainly hope so!
Sugar Plum Cupcakery took over the previous Geno’s BBQ building (1241 St Rt 131 next door to Angilos Pizza). Specializing in gourmet sweet treats you can fit in your pocket the bakery does offer other desserts such as pies and wedding cakes.
We opted to sample a couple of cups and they went down quite deliciously. The “A Butter Way” (top left) and the “Strawberry Cream” (top right) were both fresh, moist and marvelous. They ship worldwide and even deliver. Check them out at www.cakesbysugarplums.com
Another (fairly) new cupcake joint in the Sugar Cupcakery located at 32 Main St. in Historic Milford. This place keeps their eyes on the prize by creating wholesome organic cupcakes and nothing else. It’s all about gourmet expensive ingredients, time consuming type cupcakes you’ll find the likes of nowhere else.
We snagged two of those too: a “Chocolate Truffle” and a “Vanilla Bean”
They were delicious as expected. You can check them out (sorta) at their page www.sugarcupcakery.com At present time the site isn’t much more than a logo and a contact email. Which really sucks because there is much to say about the creation and organic ingredients in these cupcakes.
Oh well what good is it to look at cupcakes online? Everyone would agree the only merit they offer is when they are enjoyed with a swift chomp or a subtle nibble, whichever way you choose.
