Putters Tavern in Milford hosts a lot of local acoustic music groups. In fact Thursday, Friday and Saturdays are all acoustic band nights. Monday and Tuesdays are acoustic open mic nights. That means you can bring up your guitar and be the star of the show ( for a moment anyway).
It’s like karaoke except with real music and few if any bad singers. One things for sure if nobody is playing, the hosts Tim Hunt (Mondays) and Aaron Hedrick (Tuesdays) can keep the crowd well entertained without any audience participation whatsoever.
They’ll always take requests and you can get up and join in or just sit and enjoy. Someone’s always going to get up and play so you know it’s going to be interesting. Often times the players are friends of the host which means you’ll get to catch many musicians from other local bands who have the night off. It all makes for a great way to spend a Monday or Tuesday to say the least.
If it still doesn’t sound like your thing you can always come on Wednesday. That’s karaoke night and I know how much all you American Idol fans just love karaoke. I won’t complain too loudly but look at it this way, with open mic it’s you, your guitar and the whole bar. Some talent is required.
