Eastside Vibe Review
Ladies and gentleman take a look at these band members
closely. Do you see what I see? I see four kids likely to get carded just
to get in a bar, let alone be the main event there. I see four youths with
budding talent and serious ambition. I see a quintet of youthful exuberance
and bold ambition. I know it’s only rock n roll...but I like it.
I don’t just like it, I love it! Noyeswater has moved up my list of favorite
local bands to the top 4. Mainly because Noyeswater has one of the freshest sounds
out there. They color their energy with a bright 2007 hue. That’s a rare
thing. Most bands definitely have a dated set list. Even if they play incredibly
well the talent is masked with the re-run répétiteur so familiar
to us all.
Not Noyeswater. Freshness is the one thing every local band I dig has in common.
Same with doughnuts, veggies
and great beer. Noyeswater’s sound is as fresh as a prom queens thigh,
and just as enticing (well almost anyway).
It’s no wonder they have a 2007 sound, they are just barely old enough
to remember the 90’s. The
Bass player is still in high school! So were the Beatles.
The band covers a wide variety of music. They even play classics but they play
them so they don’t sound like classics. They jam tunes from the 70’s
and 80’s from bands like The Grateful Dead and Pink Floyd mixed right in
with Sublime and Gnarls Barkley. Picture Jerry Garcia, Flea, Bob Marley and Paul
Simon forming a band ( I know two are dead but I said picture). That picture
would prepare you for your Noyeswater experience.
If your feeling like getting funked up at a fun funkadelic rock n roll show,
get to the gig.
