Do you think this might be a southern rock band? You think right.
The Nigel Dupree band hails from deep in Dixie. Kennesaw Georgia to be specific. Adam Townsend (drums), Nigel Dupree (guitar, vocals), and Josh Hilton (bass) make a big noise for such a small band. The simple three piece strains the speakers with their raw brand of southern rock.
The band members conduct a well orchestrated show. It has a precisely timed/ polished feel. You’d think these guys had decades of tour experience under their belt.
Front man, guitar player and lead singer “...and driver of the Winnebego” Nigel Dupree actually does have decades of tour experience. His cradle was rocked in a tour bus traveling with rock star father Jesse James Dupree (Jackyl).
There must be somethin’ in the water down in Kennesaw. Because southern rock just seems to come natural for both the Dupree boys. I wonder what grandpa did?
The band is jammin’ all over the south from honky tonks to the Hard Rock.
You don’t get invited back to places like the Outlaw Drinkin’ Club in Beaumont Texas if your some kinda yankee wannabe band.

We were fortunate enough to catch the band here at Big Ed’s in Amelia (of all places).
Big Ed’s (1726 E Ohio Pike) in Amelia is at the 132/125 intersection. After leasing the bar out for 25 years and watching people fumble through a crash course on the bar business the family decided to take it over. Bringing it back to a damn good band bar is their focus.
The band didn’t disappoint. The intro music came on the lights faded the band jogged out jumped up on stage and bam! Concert is on.
Nigel Dupree got off a good deal of original music. The band’s semi-savage southern rock CD titled “Attraction” (featuring the single “Rock & Roll”) is available at Best Buy, itunes and Amazon. It’s cool to see great bands like this at a corner Amelia bar instead of dealing with going to Bogarts! Keep an eye on this band and look for their single on WEBN, not to mention Big Ed’s schedule!
