Jammin with NexTime

EV: What’s going on caucasians! It’s been too long, or should I say “It’s been such a long time...” where have you all been hiding out, in the studio?
NexTime: Well, it’s a really long story, but to give you the “Readers Digest” approach, we have been in the studio but for the most part rehearsing a lot of new material for our live shows. Then in the midst of that, NexTime original bassist, Glen Mock, informed us he would be moving to Atlanta, so in a very short period of time, we had to scramble to replace him. We were fortunate to get James Rock (Mad Life Crisis, Graffix Rock Promotions, Music for the Madness, which is not only D.J. services, but includes video and all the works) into the band and we have not missed a beat. NexTime had been off a bit for various band members vacations, so I guess it couldn’t have actually hit at a better time.
EV: Last word was you all are in the studio, we want to get some video of that
to show the fans, when are we going to get that chance?
NexTime: Very soon, we will be rehearsing extensively at our studio and and in addition to that, we will be heading back to Sonic Frontier Studio to add additional songs (current/modern rock) to our demo. We would love to have you there for that and at the rehearsal studio as well.
EV: All that studio time must result in at least a couple original tracks, are we going to hear any at the next show?
NexTime: No, not in the immediate future, however, there are a couple of excellent originals and more than likely, at some point in time, we will perform them for a limited time at some of our live shows.
EV: Are your studio sessions going on a new CD release soon, when will we get to hear it?
NexTime: We would imagine that at this time, it will be as late or as early as 2009, but it could happen earlier than anticipated.
EV: We could always use another live video, when is the “NexTime” you all are playing?
NexTime: We will be “out west” at the Highway House on September 5th and 6th, however, for the eastsiders, we will be at the J & B Tavern on Saturday, September 13th, and this is going to be a great time, we really encourage people to come out to J & B Tavern that evening and have a blast with us. It is going to be a Rockin’ evening and it’s an awesome place to catch some great live music.
EV: Everyone who knows what NexTime is all about knows damn well you have the classics covered, any new blood running through the set list veins?
NexTime: Yes, very much so. NexTime started off as a classic rock band but with the intentions of adding to the time line as we went, and we are on pace with our predictions with that one. Example, if you check out our myspace site, (www.myspace.com/nextimerocks) you will notice a statement that says “Playing the Rock Radio Hits from the 70’s to Today” and it is the driving rock radio hits at that. We have added material from bands such as: Finger Eleven, Velvet Revolver, Stone Temple Pilots, the Offspring, and there are more to come such as: Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chili Peppers, etc. We really are going to span a large portion of the rock time line and as the year progresses, even more driving modern rock songs will be in the repertoire.
EV: You’ve always been a favorite at KC’s Pub and other Milford Pubs, are there any area clubs you have your eye on for some new gigs?
NexTime: That would have to be the Anderson Bar and Grill. If you check out their schedule, you will see a diverse listing of excellent bands and thanks to No Blue Productions and the Anderson Bar and Grill, we will be there on Saturday evening, October 4th.
EV: Speaking of Eastside clubs, which one (or one’s) have you really liked playing at the most and why?
NexTime: Two of the best. KC’s Pub and J & B Tavern. Both clubs share a common denominator in being that the ownership/management is top notch and just some of the best people we have worked with. To all of the people at KC’s Pub and J & B Tavern, from all of the guys at NexTime, thanks much!!
EV: Give the fans a heads up and tell us what your next couple of months schedule looks like.
NexTime: A mix of the west and the east, our schedule can always be accessed at our website: www.nextime.org or at the myspace site mentioned above. It will soon be growing (north, south, east, and west) due to our new association with No Blue Productions. However, we love the eastside and we will always be around somewhere on the eastside Rockin’ and Rollin’.
EV: For those who really have no clue, introduce the band and tell them what NexTime is all about! It’s such a shame to be clueless.
NexTime: We are a driving rock band that covers some of the biggest driving rock radio hits that include the 70’s, many of the great rock songs from the 80’s, the 90’s and all the way to today. NexTime is a work in progress. We are always under the hood adjusting so that we can keep it fresh for the fans and fresh for ourselves. We are an eastside band that is ready to explode out into the entire Greater Cincinnati Region, but we will always be around on the eastside, where we have made so many friends. It has been an awesome ride for us and we look forward to much more!! In closing, the slogan that has found its way out onto the internet says it all about our show: “PREPARE TO PARTY, PREPARE TO ROCK!!!”
NexTime: Ken Casbar on sound, Greg Cooper on keyboards/vocals, Lance Dinser on guitar, Steve Hedger on drums, Larry McBrayer on lead vocals, and James Rock on bass guitar/vocals
