NexTime

What does it take to be successful? Some would say hard work, some say
determination, some education. Of course you could also say vision, imagination, and
experimentation. Most would probably say luck, money and genes as well. I’m not sure about luck, genes, money or education but NexTime has certainly gone throughout the rest of the factors. In fact, they combine their vision, imagination, experimentation and determination into a relentlessness.
All of the members are seasoned music- ians previously performing in other bands.
Heading in new directions the various members made their own paths and discovered each other.
The band was formed back in 2005 by a merger between two bands; Time Piece and Next Exit... creating a new band, NexTime. NexTime kicked off their debut show at Ole Fort Thomas Pub back in 2006 and have been relentlessly pursuing their dream since.Releasing a demo CD was first on the schedule. The self titled CD features tracks from artists like Styx, Van Halen, Journey, The Police, U2, The Doobie Brothers and The Doors. The bands live répétiteur is represented well by the CD. You can get one at the shows or for a sample song you can go to the bands web page at www.eastsidevibe.com (click on “local bands” then click on NexTime).
The five piece consists of Larry McBrear (lead vocals), Lance Dinser (lead guitar), Glen Mock (bass & harmonica), Greg cooper (keyboards) Steve Hedger (drums). The addition of the keyboards to the normal four piece allows a wider variety of cool classic covers the band can dish out. The band breaks it down like this.Driving Dance Rock; The Police, Billy Squire, John Mellencamp, Romantics, Rolling Stones, Loverboy, U2 and Stevie Ray Vaughn Driving Rock Songs; Black Crowes, David Bowie, The Doors, Elton John, Styx, Van Halen and ZZ Top. Rock n Roll Classics; Bad Company, Bob Seger, Peter Frampton and The Who. Rock n Roll Medleys; Led Zepplin and Lynard Skynard. Rock Ballads; Journey, Night Ranger, Bon Jovi, Motley Crue and Poison.
That’s also pretty much the live show set list, of course they play the requests to please the crowd on the dance floor. Chances are if it’s a 70’s or 80’s classic cover you seek from NexTime... ye shall find it.
NexTime relies on the rock n roll songs of that great era that made rock n roll stand the test of time. The kind of classics that are still being played, bought, downloaded and re-made everyday.
The band and the crowd both seem to revel in the by gone age of silk shirts, golden hair, bell bottoms and the free spirit in the music.
We see more and more of this golden age of rock n roll being played from the pubs to the clubs and even on the alternative rock stations. Perhaps this re-birth will continue to grow and more bands like NexTime will be booked solid.
If your in need of a Styx fix you can always catch the band at local bars on the Eastside, check out their schedule on our web site for up to date info on bookings or even to book the band for a private party. We’ll see ya at the show... NexTime.
