PUB GRUB
George’s Bar and Grill
State Route 28

The lighted sign out front of George’s simply reads “George is back”.
This type of simple marketing works well for the McRib, I wondered how well
it would work for a Goshen Pub.
To satisfy my curiosity I stopped in to see “George”. I was ready
for a late lunch and my compadre was hungry as well, so trying out the new “George’s” made
perfect sense.
We took a seat at the bar and were immediately welcomed by George himself.
I had burgers or hoagies in mind but George’s enthusiasm over the quality
products he uses along with his impressive specials hooked me into ordering a
slab of ribs with a salad and two sides. George’s exuberant personality
worked on my lunch partner as well, she ordered the king crab with a salad
and two sides.
I sipped my Arnold Palmer and observed the unique and very infectious personality
George shares with every customer that walks in the door. George loves life,
he loves his bar and he certainly loves his food. In fact George and his
wife personally sample all of the fresh ingredients they buy and pay close
attention to all of the details in it’s savory preparation. I soon began to wonder
if I was the only customer in the place that didn’t already know George.
He certainly knows them, he greeted them all by name.
The food arrived and we were ready for it. I could go on and on about the
sweet buttery crab legs, the tender ribs, the crisp salad or the soft warm
breadsticks but I think it’s best you see (and taste) it for yourself. I’m sure
all of the servers are attentive at George’s but if you want a real treat
sit at the bar and experience George’s service from George himself. I’m
certain you will never forget it. Now I completely understand why the sign proudly
proclaims “George is back”!
