Devils Due

Boasting a lineup consisting of some of the best and most popular musicians from the local original and cover band scene, Devils Due is a brand new band project set to take the Tri-State by storm.

Whether you call them hair bands, glam, or just good old 80s rock, there's an undeniable energy that came from bands like Poison, Skid Row and Ratt during the genre's hey day that's missing from the current climate of cookie-cutter radio. Devils Due are poised to bring it back, live and cranked to 11!

The brainchild of guitarist Jim Rodgers (Hollywood Teaze, American Hardcore, Riley), Devils Due's lineup is a who's who of Cincinnati's best and brightest.

Drummer John Sims (Foxy Shazam, American Hardcore, Riley, V-MOB, the Bad Words) and bassist Scot Fithen (Slur, The Myths, 3 Degrees, Piper Down) hold down a tight and booming rhythm section, while vocalist Scott Wherle (Fatal Cry, Telltale, Citizen Cain, Pebbles Overflow) fronts the band with a set of ridiculous pipes. Billy Carri (solo artist and ex-Cherry Bang frontman) brings his guitar and vocals to the mix to complete this stellar lineup.

With a setlist including some of your fave tunes from the era of 80s rock mixed with a few of the more obscure artists and tracks, it's a safe bet anyone who is or was a fan will dig Devils Due.

The Devil is in the details. Devil’s Due

Here’s a diddy about one of the (if not THE) best 80’s big hair cover bands in Cincy. Devil’s Due has the look, the sound and perhaps even better live performances than the bands they proudly cover. For instance, take Devil’s Due lead singer Scott Wherle, his vocal ability would have been envied by any big hair singer. Not only can he smooth through Poison, Slaughter, Motley Crue and the like but he can also hit the highest notes from bands like Steelheart (Never Let You Go). It’s the first time we’ve seen any cover band blast out the hard hitting vocal stylings that are way out of range for your average joe Saturday night bar band.
The rest of the band follows suit. The brainchild of this glorious glam band is guitarist Jim Rodgers (Hollywood Teaze, American Hardcore, Riley). He’s accompanied by drummer John Sims (Foxy Shazam, American Hardcore, Riley, V-MOB, the Bad Words) and bassist Scot Fithen (Slur, The Myths, 3 Degrees, Piper Down). Together they hold down a tight and booming rhythm section. Billy Carri (solo artist and ex-Cherry Bang frontman) brings his guitar and vocals to the mix to complete this stellar lineup.

The fun doesn’t stop there by any means either. The band’s stage set is frozen cucumber cool. Lighted platforms illuminate the solos, tight leather pants, spandex, tattoos and big hair everywhere keep the stage front girls in a fixed stare. We weren’t the only ones snappin’ pics, flashes flew like lightning bugs on a muggy July night all across the bar. After the first set’s final song the Devil’s Due boys were rushed by a gaggle of girls, all eager for a “closer look” at the talent. Years ago, Cincy Vibe was backstage for a photo at a Bret Michaels show (at the short lived Whiskey Dick’s) and we can guarantee you ole Bret himself didn’t have anywhere near the juicy pickin’s Devil’s Due were being offered.

It was sad for aging Bret (and comical given his two hour prima donna tour bus primping to prepare for his back stage skanks), but surprising to say the least to see hottie honeys springing on their toes to worm through the female flesh to rub up on a local Cincy bar band.
Point is, this is as good as it gets in the Big Hair genre in our fair city. Any fan of Ratt, Warrant, Poison, Bon Jovi, Bang Tango, Lynch Mob, Dokken, L.A. Guns, Motley Crue, Skid Row, Bulletboys, Steelheart, Faster Pussycat, Tuff, Firehouse, Queensryche, The Cult, Whitesnake, Jackyl, Cinderella, Dangerous Toys, Def Leppard, Guns n Roses, Mr. Big, Saigon Kick, Extreme, Scorpions, Slaughter, or even Twisted Sister will not be disappointed at the Devil’s Due show.

You can see them at Rhinos fine stage on Saturday July 17th. Ladies, dress to impress and leave your man on the couch playing X-box. Guys, this is where the chicks will be, and they’re gonna be worked up quite nicely.
See more on Devil’s Due at www.devilsduecincy.com/ or www.myspace.com/devilsduecincy or (www.cincyvibe.com). There’s schedules, bios, pics & vids, but the show is what all the fuss is about.
See it Saturday July 17th at Rhinos East.
