Talk about Mom & Pop!
If you’ve ever ventured into the wonderful world of food service you know how hard it is to make it in the restaurant biz. If not, you truly have no idea. The hours (14-18 a day), the costs (always onward and upward), and the staffing (highest turn over in any business) are just everyday problems. Quality, consistency, training and providing a superior product is also a hurdle to handle. Few do it successfully, even fewer do it at all (and still preserve any real quality). Dom and Linda Demeo do both. Quite nicely I must add. They aren’t just one hell of a Mom & Pop place either, they have two to be proud of. Dom does his delicious Jersey Italian at DeMeos and Linda does her mid-west menu at Bakers Family Diner (now you see why I say talk about Mom & Pop). These two restaurateurs are bustin’ ass and burning the midnight oil just to get a plate on your table they can be proud of. Top quality ingredients, “perfect for two” portions and “made from scratch everyday” nearly everything is standard fare to them, but far from standard anywhere. We say Amen! to you both. Well done indeed.
