Let's Keep Creager
Our friend took his car into one of those big box cartoon corporate auto parts places to fix 2 brakes and get 4 tires. He forked over $700, now he has 4 crap tires, $3 brake pads and he thinks he got a deal.ia
We think different. Maybe $700 is a cheap price, let’s just agree it is. Price isn’t all that matters. What matters is that the $700 he gave them went straight to Philadelphia instead of the Eastside. Simple as that.
Our friend made a mistake, however a few days later on our suggestion he went down to Creager Tire in Batavia looking for an expensive hard to find truck tire and Creager hooked him up with a nice used one for $20, mounting included. Was that a good deal? You know it. It’s too bad Creager’s ethical efforts weren’t rewarded with the $700 sale instead of the measly $20 one. There’s always next time.
What we like about Creager Tire is the people. Genuine honest town folk, the way it used to be. The way it may never be again if we don’t support the few we have left. We don’t mean few as in “there aren’t many mom & pop garages”, we mean few as in “there are few left that give you the straight truth about what parts you need (and only what you need), what they cost to install and then correctly install quality parts backed by the best manufactures in the business.” Big Box corporate stores sell nothing but foreign made bottom dollar discount crap. Do you really want to rely on $2 Taiwanese brake pads when your braking for your life at 70 on 275?
The folks at Creager have been there so long they remember when Batavia was town. The shop has been there 80 years. There’s a reason. It’s simple. They take care of the customers by doing good work at a fair cost. Not just on cars either, they service tractors & equipment just as well. In fact the owner told us their farm equipment customers have been keeping them alive. I can see why, a corporate trained grease jockey wouldn’t even know how to pull a Ford 5000 in the shop. Creager knows it all like the back of their hand. Another friend had some nice Flowmaster exhaust done on his 08’ GTO there and it turned out sweet. They also have hardcore 4 wheelin’ parts & tires. They service it all, guarantee it all and there is no 1 800 number to call when you have a bitch. You just stop by 52 S Market St Monday thru Friday (8-5) and they will help you in person. No wait whatsoever. That’s the real deal. Batavia businesses are almost gone. Lets keep Creager. 732-2062
