They’re going to need a bigger bar

This is Big Ed’s in Amelia. We’ve seen this little bar under every flag it’s flown for the last decade and never has there been a crowd like this. In fact, I doubt there’s been a bar this crowded within miles of Amelia let alone here at Big Ed’s.
We walked into standing room only and squeezed through the crowd to the back staging room just to find a place to stand and set our gear. Big Ed’s has a huge room in the back that is currently used for storage. The room is almost as big as the rest of the bar itself. Since Big Ed’s has been handling such huge crowds they are planning to open up this side as well to accommodate the massive influx of new customers. Why the sudden surge in customers?
The bad ass bands! This bar is fast becoming the hot spot for well known and up & coming metal/rock bands. From death metal to Southern rock Big Ed’s books them all. Your likely to see up to 5 bands in one night as we did on this night (Rootbound, Parable Heresy, Hydrovibe, Faith To Hate and Hardcore Ritual).
Who’s the wizard behind the curtain bringing these bands to Big Ed’s? Transfusion Productions. The same folks who are bringing national acts/metal bands to the Inner Circle (Annie’s). Imagine a stellar Annie’s crowd stuffed into O’Dell’s (in front of Annie’s) and that’s what you’ll see at Big Ed’s. There isn’t anywhere else in the city that has a gig like this going on! We have to hand it to you guys, Big Ed’s is on the map for the first time since we are old enough to remember.
Metal fans will reel in delight, music fans will discover new bands and bands are certain to make many fans at Big Ed’s. This place is bustin’ at the seams man. You have to see it to believe it. You’ll get your chance to see it in full glory too. There are many great shows coming up in March.
How about the After Midnight Project (Thursday March 18th) it features bands fresh off tour from The Vans Warped Tour. National act talent, local pub prices, that’s always cool.
Our curiosity was really peaked when we saw the April 10th Every Body Wants Some show. “Who’s this band?” we asked. “It’s a Van Halen (not Van Hagar) tribute band from Cincinnati” we were told. What the hell! Where have these guys been? Wherever it was, they’re at Big Ed’s now.
