“Whether your at Demeos for dinner or Bakers for breakfast... your still a guest of the same chef” Dom.

It’s True... We’re Grandma Approved!
Eastside Vibe Review 1
Attention DeMeo’s fans. If you love the Milford DeMeo’s Italian eatery your going to want to check out the owner’s (Dom & Linda DeMeo) newest restaurant Bakers Family Diner.
By now most of you already know and love the delicious dinner entrees and desserts DeMeos is famous for. The fresh ingredients and home cooked quality that made the little Milford restaurant Eastside’s favorite Italian dinner spot is also the shining star of the new Bakers Family Diner.
Located on St. Rt. 28 in Goshen (next to the Unique Boutique) the diner seems off the beaten path for such a wholesome quality restaurant. Don’t let the locale fool you, this diner is far from some country dive. You won’t find quality like this anywhere in Goshen let alone the heaping portions like Dom dishes out.
Did I say heaping? Allow me to re-phrase... How about huge heaping falling off the platter stacked piles of perfectly cooked perfection on a plate! That’s more like it.
Just like grandma, Dom believes in feeding people. No one goes away hungry. I guarantee it. It’s such a disappointment to be really hungry, decide to bother driving to a restaurant, get a table and salivate uncontrollably until your food comes out only then see some Mickey Mouse burger and a child size fry on your plate. Nay Nay, not at Dom’s. Not at DeMeo’s, not at Bakers and not anywhere he opens in the future. Bakers is a fine example of the perfect blend of quality, portion and cost. That’s a rare thing these days in the food business. Just look at that chili burger! If this mountain of meat doesn’t quench your cravings your a lost cause, but wait I’m getting ahead of myself. First off Dom fires up the flat top every morning at 6:30 for the breakfast diners Bakers caters to at 7 a.m. Diners can choose from a variety of breakfast platters all of which are plentiful to say the least. Dom’s favorite is the “Country Boy” breakfast platter (see below). This thing is a monster, a big omelette, two meats (bacon, sausage or ham), biscuits with sausage gravy, fresh cut home fries and two 10” pancakes for good measure. All seasoned to perfection and all scratch made right down to the uniquely sweet pancake batter. Dom doesn’t do it any other way, that’s just the way it is and that’s the way we like it.
What about lunch or dinner you say? Will I get less scratch made food than at breakfast? Nay Nay, Dom does it up right with lunch selections like the afore mentioned “Chili Burger” and since you can see it (above), I think it speaks for itself. If you love a fat fish filet like I do check out this stackable sandwich (right). Underneath that Japanese Penko breading is a fresh Cod filet. Moist and juicy flakes of fish break off in two inch pieces when you snap it in half like I do. It’s too good to eat as a sandwich, I snatch the fish off the bun, snap off a mouth full, lightly dip the tip in the tartar sauce and enjoy the flavor unencumbered by the bread and toppings. It’s really that good. Did I mention that even tartar sauce is scratch made? The tartar sauce people! Do you know how many restaurants make their own condiments? It’s almost unheard of, most restaurants just buy it by the gallon from Cisco or Sam’s.
Dom doesn’t run a restaurant like most people do though and that’s what makes regulars out of customers. You can peek (don’t try it) in the kitchen and see the difference if you know what your looking at. Giant bowls of cubed Irish potatoes soaking in their bath. Stock pots simmering, whole chickens and veggies for the stock that goes into the chicken and dumpling gravy. Hot cake pans cooling on the counter for the evening’s triple layered iced delight. You get the picture. What you need to do is get the food.
Dom, Linda and the staff will be happy to have you. They can accommodate large parties in the rear dining room so all you church folks and sports teams will be well taken care of. They can whip up your breakfast in a New Jersey minute and get you on the job site on time, so drive on by the drive thru and let them sell their genetically engineered Mcwhatever to some other sucker. You won’t be sorry. Besides that the Country Boy is only a buck or so more than a Mcmeal so which one is truly a deal? Same with the sandwiches.
Goshen has been overlooked as a nice nesting spot for a quality oriented restaurant for decades. Dom saw the need and showed up to feed. Now Milford residents will have to go to Goshen to dig on some early morning delights (isn’t that bass ackwards) and it’s about time. After all Ihop can hop into bankruptcy court for all I care. They have never earned my business and that’s what good community business is all about. Dom & Linda are Milford residents, Milford taxpayers and a hell of a restaurateur duo. They deserve your business and given the chance they’ll earn it too.
