Big Boy Or Big Daddy?
By Golly’s has always been known for the big burgers that carry the restaurants name. The big By Golly burger is a damn fine burger perfection. At first glance it is reminiscent of a Frisch’s Big Boy with two beef patties and a 3 piece bun. That’s where the similarities end though. If Frisch’s can call their signature burger a “Big Boy” then the By Golly Burger could be called a “Big Daddy”.
What gives with the Big Boy anyway? It’s far from big. It used to be but now you have pay extra and order the “Super Big Boy” to get a real Big Boy. All things considered the By Golly Burger qualifies as a “Super Big Daddy”. It’s definitely a man sized gut buster. Big beef patties, sauteed onions, two slices of cheese and light sauce. One thing is for certain. All you folks sitting at Frisch’s waiting on your burger should have drove down 1 more block and took a seat at the new By Golly’s. The building is new but the burger is just as it has always been. Awesome.
By Golly’s serves a burger to please any palate (and chicken burgers too) but the original is still king to me. If beef isn’t your thing order the wings. “The Big Wings Are Back” and on Mondays they’re just 45¢. By Golly’s switched brands when they first opened to offer cheaper prices but customers loved the original big wings so they quickly switched back (they kept the cheap prices). It’s all back to original now so skip Frisch’s and get the big burger, the By Golly Burger.
