Anna & Milovan
Cincy’s Anna & Milovan have been much talked about, but not by CV, until now. This father-daughter singer-songwriter duo is captivating audiences and making waves (or at least steady ripples) in the local, national and even international music pond. March 10th Anna competes in the Metromix Idol Karaoke Competition. She’ll walk with a grand if she’s chosen and I think that’s a bet with good odds. She really can sing like an Idol. She’s plenty cute too. That never hurts.
I know your thinking “Cincinnati, sure she’s been around, national level? Probably not, international.. C’mon” Well, it’s true. Anna’s song was on Womensradio Playlist (Oakland, California), twice a day until July 15, 2010. Her song “Broken Compass” is played there too. Anna also won the Miami Idol Competition (Miami University, Oxford, Ohio). You can see the show at www.youtube.com/watch?v=sDbXY1ynUMg.
A station in Doncaster, South Yorkshire (Don Valley Country AM) had Anna’s song “Broken Compass” on their playlist too. Another radio station in the Netherlands (RADIO COMPAGNIE) had Anna’s song “Daisy” on their playlist for the show called “Country Stew.” (The station also plays Anna’s “Broken Compass”).
Our Cincy singer has people singing along to her tunes in Europe as we speak! She’s radio ready in her hometown too. Hint hint NKU.
These photos were snapped at her Chez Nora Jazz Lounge show. It was standing room only. One fan said “I’ve been watching her here since the beginning, the crowd just kept getting bigger and bigger, people really love her music and talent.”
Watch any of her youtube videos and you’ll understand why, she sings like a pro. Honestly the videos don’t do her justice. Seeing her sing live with such intense emotion, soaring vocals and talent was impressive more than any video she has posted.
Dad Milovan is no slouch either. He sits quietly with his acoustic six string, perfectly picking along to whatever tune Anna chooses next. He sits in silence but Milo’s old time Doc Watson picking style is the picturesque backdrop for Anna’s amazing vocals. You can hear, feel & even see all the years of working together, they play harmoniously.
