They say you have to close one door to open another and I believe it. Just
think if Ground Round had not run their business into the “gound” the
Anderson Bar And Grill could not have taken on the location.
Judging by the crowd I’m not the only one overjoyed by the change.
One look inside will tell you “ABG” is just what Anderson pub
lovers have always wanted. As with any great pub, entertainment is the key.
Restaurants have food, clubs have entertainment but pubs have both.
Most pubs have more focus on one or the other (good food or good entertainment).
ABG has mustered up the effort to do them both equally well. Live music six
nights a week featuring the areas most popular bands, TV’s galore,
Buzz Time online games and shuffleboard keep the crowd well entertained.
I love the 1/2 price late night grub deal ABG has goin’ on. Actually
it starts at 6 and goes to 8 then starts again at 10 till Midnight. So it’s
really “2” deals in one. The first deal for the game fans, then
late night deal for the live music fans.
I was watching the Sonny Moorman Group when I first heard of the specials...
I wasted no time. I jumped right on a riblets and fries appetizer and a big,
fat pretzel with cheese.
To my surprise my riblets turned out to be a 1/2 rack of baby backs with
steak fries (more meal than an appetizer). The meat was so tender and juicy
it had all disappeared in less than 7 minutes.
I don’t know if it was the excitement or the delight that made me do
it but nevertheless I immediatley grabbed the rack by the bone savagely devoured
it. With a sauce smeared face I sat back enjoyed a great SMG original and
relaxed while I munched on a big peice of the pretzel and finished my draft.
After a bit of digestion and retrospective reflection I was pleased to realize
I can come in to ABG at almost midnight and eat like this. Very cool. Altogether
the ribblet appetizer, pretzel and 2 drafts (I brought a friend) came up
to less than $25 very, very cool. A good menu, great specials and a hell
of a late night deal keeps the tummy from crying hungry. By itself the food
would bring me back. Factor in the live local music and I would consider
buying a house on Nagel
