9-19-09 @ Latitudes in Anderson.Amnesia Lane starts at 9:30pm with a softer set and blue "mood lighting" to ease you into the evening. At 9:30 there are often still patrons finishing dinner and they are treated to great, well played music at a respectable volume. Many choose to stay for awhile as they grow more and more impressed by the song selection and talent of the band. Serious, but not stuffy, musicians here folks. The youngest member is 35 yet the energy/vibe seems to make them younger. It is Rock and Roll after all.Set 2 picks up the pace and the lights are now flashing out a pattern to match each song's tempo and this brings out a few dancers to the front of the stage. The 3rd set is big on Rock staples by Def Leppard,AC/DC,Journey,Pat Benatar to name a few and this delights the crowd. Things are considerably looser by night's end and the band is driving this runaway train all over Party Town. The guitarist(Bobby) plays while walking thru the crowd to make some friends.Singer Nate hams it up by dancing with the patrons to "Billie Jean","Bust A Move","Sweet Caroline" And "Kiss".Keyboardist Jason is actually utilized by Amnesia Lane on such Synth heavy faves like "Separate Ways","Don't You(Forget About Me)",and "Run To You" by Bryan Adams. He even sings a couple of tunes throughout the evening. Charlie(Bass) showcases his talents on "Play That Funky Music White Boy","Heartbreaker",and "Word Up"but watch him on the simpler tunes as he is laying down solid backbone all night. Andy on Drums(those are drums right?) has hundreds of sounds at his disposal on his Roland Electronic Set;the breaking glass at the beginning of "You May Be Right",the cowbell from "Honky Tonk Women" but there is no cowbell in sight! The Cabasa in "Crazy Train" and "Everybody Wants You".The different snare and cymbal sounds changing in almost every song. The volume is so well controlled that it mixes perfectly with the music and vocals giving the band this Recording Studio sound to their LIVE production. An entertaining group with great song choices and interpretations,as well as really nice fellas, make them a must see.www.myspace.com/amnesialn or www.amnesialane.com
